Glassblower Brings a Delicious Twist to His Pumpkin Designs

Blown Glass and Fused Glass Shapes

Glassblowing is an age-old art form that has fascinated people around the world. The process of creating beautiful glass objects by blowing air into hot molten glass is a true art form that requires precision, skill, and experience. And Tim Nolan, a glass blower from Pensacola, has taken the art of glassblowing to a whole new level with his use of precut donuts in his pumpkin designs.

Multiple Glass & Ceramic Pumpkins

As a board member of the First City Art Center's Board and one of the original creators of the Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser, Tim knows a thing or two about glassblowing. The fundraiser started off small, selling 200-300 blown glass pumpkins in the first year, but it has grown substantially. Now, in its 17th year, selling over 7,000 pumpkins made by over 40 artists of glass and ceramics.

One of the greatest things about the pumpkins is their diversity. With over 40 artists contributing to the fundraiser, each pumpkin is unique and one-of-a-kind. And Tim's use of fused glass shapes adds a level of creativity that sets his pumpkins apart from the rest.

Enhance Your Glass Art Projects with Precut Glass Shapes

This year, Tim decided to incorporate fused glass shapes, including glass precut donuts and donut holes, into his pumpkins. By heating the precuts on a non-stick frying pan and with a torch, he was able to incorporate them into his pumpkin designs seamlessly. The result? Beautiful, intricate glass pumpkins show the diversity and creativity of this art form.

Fused glass supplies, such as precut shapes, are a popular choice among fused glass artists. They offer a huge range of shapes in different colors, sizes, and patterns, and can be used in a variety of projects. Tim's use of precut donuts, a custom cut by Fuse Muse Fused Glass, adds a whimsical touch that sets his pumpkins apart from the rest. This collaboration between a Canadian company and a Florida artist shows how the glass art community is able to come together for a good cause to create something truly unique and beautiful.

After being turned down by many local waterjet companies, Tim discovered Fuse Muse Fused Glass, a company based in Canada that specializes in precut glass shapes that are cut from COE 90 & COE 96 fusible glass. Although located in Canada, the company's high-quality products and reliable shipping made it a perfect choice for Tim to get the supplies he needed for his pumpkin designs. Tim ordered precut donuts, cut of COE 96 Glass in four different colors, which he then fused into his glass pumpkins.  He was particularly pleased with the fact that there was no devitrification at all, meaning that the glass remained crystal clear and free from the haze that can sometimes occur during the glassblowing process.
