Why Use COE 90 Precut Glass Shapes?
COE 90 precut glass shapes take much of the cutting and grinding out of fused glass projects, giving you more time to focus on the creative part. Each shape is precision cut from Bullseye COE 90 glass for consistent sizing, making it easier to create detailed designs that may be difficult or time-consuming to cut by hand.
Precut shapes can also help reduce wasted glass and are especially useful when you need multiples of the same design. Whether you are creating a single fused glass project, preparing pieces for a class, or producing items in larger quantities, precut shapes provide a convenient and repeatable starting point.
What Can COE 90 Precuts Be Used For?
- ornaments
- suncatchers
- layered fused glass panels
- garden art
- jewelry
- mosaics
- stained glass applications where compatible
- classroom projects
How Are the Edges Finished?
Our COE 90 precut glass shapes are waterjet cut from Bullseye glass. The edges are ground so the pieces are easier and more comfortable to handle and can be used in your fused glass projects without the time-consuming grinding normally required after hand cutting.
Frequently Asked Questions About COE 90 Precut Glass Shapes
What does COE 90 mean?
COE stands for coefficient of expansion, which describes how glass expands and contracts as it is heated and cooled. For fused glass projects, the glass pieces being fired together should generally come from the same compatible glass system. COE 90 glass is designed to be fused with other compatible COE 90 glass.
Are these precut shapes compatible with Bullseye glass?
Yes. Our COE 90 precut glass shapes are made from Bullseye COE 90 glass and are intended to be used with other compatible Bullseye COE 90 sheet glass, frit and accessory glass.
Can I fuse COE 90 glass with COE 96 glass?
Generally, no. COE 90 and COE 96 are different glass compatibility systems and should not normally be fused together in the same piece. Mixing incompatible glass can create stress in the finished project and may lead to cracking.
Are the edges sharp?
Our COE 90 precut glass shapes are waterjet cut and then ground to remove sharp edges. This makes the pieces easier and more comfortable to handle and generally eliminates the grinding that is often needed after hand cutting.
Can these shapes be used for stained glass or mosaics?
Yes. Although these shapes are designed primarily for fused glass projects, they can also be used in many non-fused applications such as stained glass, mosaics and mixed-media projects. For fused projects, always make sure the other glass being fired with them is compatible COE 90 glass.
What firing schedule should I use?
The firing schedule will depend on the effect you want to achieve, the thickness of your project and your kiln. For many projects using our precut shapes, a tack fuse is a good starting point because it allows the shapes to retain more of their definition.

Do you make custom precut glass shapes?
Yes, custom shapes may be available depending on the design, size and quantity required. If you have a particular shape in mind, contact us with the details of your project and we can let you know whether it can be produced as a custom waterjet-cut glass shape.
